LOCATION
This direct contract role is based in La Paz, Bolivia under a hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working from our La Paz office 4 days per week.


JOB SUMMARY
We are a global leader in real-time, item-level visibility and label management solutions, dedicated to powering the world’s most complex supply chains with innovative tools for traceability, authentication, and automated inventory management.

As a CloudOps Engineer you will work with Cloud and Edge infrastructure technologies to support the deployment, scaling, and management of Seagull SaaS production infrastructure and software globally. You will help ensure high availability, scalability, security, and performance of cloud environments. This role supports automation, monitoring, deployments, troubleshooting, and DevOps initiatives in collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

The role includes a rotation on-call schedule to support the platform 24/7.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Support the management, optimization, and scaling of cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Implement, maintain, and support cloud-based infrastructure across platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Help ensure the availability, scalability, performance, and reliability of cloud infrastructure.
  • Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools responsibly to improve CloudOps productivity, including troubleshooting, automation/IaC work, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues, including performance bottlenecks, system failures, and network-related issues.
  • Support the implementation of cloud security best practices.
  • Monitor cloud resource usage and assist in identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Work closely with development, operations, and product teams to support the deployment of cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on cloud architecture, infrastructure improvements, and operational best practices.
  • Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure, deployments, and cloud processes.
  • Support cloud performance monitoring, incident response, security reviews, and operational reporting.

WHAT WE REQUIRE
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure management, operations, DevOps, or a related technical role.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Jenkins.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
  • Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve CloudOps efficiency, such as incident triage, log analysis, automation, or documentation, with strong security awareness and judgment.
  • Understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, and DNS.
  • Experience with cloud monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Familiarity with event-driven applications or messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or MQTT brokers is a plus.
  • Understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, encryption, vulnerability management, secure configurations, and risk-based security practices.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.

REQUIRED EDUCATION 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • A Master’s Degree in Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, or a related field is a plus.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Docker Certified Associate, AWS Certified Security, or similar are a plus.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
  • You must be set up as an independent contractor (self-employed).
  • You will not be eligible for benefits.
  • The contract will be paid monthly in US dollars through a 3rd party payroll vendor.
  • Upon hire, you must be able to provide documentation that proves authorization to work in Bolivia and a Police Clearance Certificate.
